When Excel’s built-in feature isn’t there

According to Microsoft’s documentation, Insert Data from Picture on Windows requires Microsoft 365 Excel version 2210 or later, and it isn’t part of the one-time Office 2019 or 2021 releases. Many work machines and older licences simply don’t have the button.

Why can’t I see Data from Picture in Excel?
It needs a recent Microsoft 365 build (version 2210+ on Windows) and isn’t included in Office 2019/2021. Some enterprise update channels get it later. Check File → Account for your version.
